Undoubtedly when it comes to trailblazing rides throughout different highways, the first thing that comes to the mind is the delicious dhaba cuisine that is hygienic as well as mouthwatering. Quenching the taste buds with different cuisines as per the state it runs to close by gives you an unforgettable taste of the delectable delight that each state has to offer. Not only it is a hint of the culture prevalent in the said state or city, it also says a lot about the lifestyle of the people and how their diet influences it. So, here I am with a list of best highways dhabas for motorbikers.
National Highway 1
I guess this is the most popular one on the list is the highway that connects Delhi to Attari going via Murthal and Karnal with adjoining cities included. It is the longest of highways in India that has many dhabas. Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba, Gulshan ka Dhaba are the best dhaba near me on highway along with Pahalwan Dhaba situated at Murthal. These are well-maintained good quality dhabas that cater multi-cuisine to the travelers, especially good for those who are on road like us riders who are on their trip of adventure and fun.
The best thing about this dhaba near me is the point where a motor biker has easy access to good food at affordable price. I choose Sukhdev Dhaba for its ambience, clean washrooms, air conditioned seating and of course good food that tops the list. Although, I love Indian food like parathas with butter, pickle, chutney and curd, another one would be amritsari kulcha made authentic, but for those who prefer Chinese, they too will be satisfied.
Sukhdev Dhaba, one of the swankiest amongst the lot, has taken the meaning of dhaba to another level by offering clean washrooms and air-conditioned settings. Though they offer Indian as well as Chinese fare, their Amritsari Kulcha and stuffed parathas with white butter are the most popular.
Further when you move on the route if you are going to make stop at Karnal then Haveli is the best highways dhabas for riders due to the Punjabi theme, as I too prefer this cuisine very often. The unique thing is the Haveli or the Indian Mansion theme that is full of exquisite things like old ornate walls, gas brackets, arches decorated with different tones of colors to make it lively, the décor that brings you back to the royal era and the village style theme that makes you feel as if you are having your time at a swanky village. Other attractions include live Punjabi folk dance and music; you can even buy ethnic wear from here. I ordered myself typical Punjabi food that included lassi, parathas and dal makhani, puris with chhole is delicious too as it is all vegetarian. If you love butter chicken then you should move to the adjoining Mayur dhaba that serves non-vegetarian food.
National Highway 2
Here riding is a bit of an issue as you cannot go over certain limit due to the busy road as it connects Delhi to Kolkata via Faridabad, Mathura, Agra, Allahabad and other cities. You will see a trail of dhabas here and after searching for best dhaba near me on this highway I came to the original Pappu Dhaba that is popular for stuffed parathas served with tawa vegetables, made in pure ghee and with butter topping you will love it if you are a paratha lover.
National Highway 8
Connecting Delhi to Mumbai, here while you are searching for best highways dhabas for motorbikers you will be delighted to find a mix of north and western India flavors to your delight. I enjoy the length of this highway that is a clear indication of diversity of India; the best part is I enjoyed the change in language, dialect and food every 5 miles. You can choose from Gujrati, North Indian cuisine, Rajasthani and Maharashtrian food.
You will love Rao’s Dhaba if you love non-vegetarian food, however, for vegetarians they should try their tandoori naan and paneer butter masala their vegetarian specialty. If you want to try out Kathiawar cuisine then move a bit further to look for Ummiya Annapurna that is located at the new expressway in Gujarat. The best part is their food preparation technique where they cook food over wood fire serving sev tamatar with local bread called rotla, enjoy besan gatta and lassan aloo that is popular at this dhaba.
National Highway 10
It is the most famous highway that is 403 kms long and made infamous by the same name as the highway in a Bollywood movie. On my travel till Rohtak I discovered some amazing dhabas, the most popular one being Mannat Dhaba the best dhaba near me on highway, I didn’t need to go looking for parking as it provides parking. The dhaba is beautiful, it has a big AC hall where they serve authentic Rajasthani food and other vegetarian delicacies like Punjabi thalis, Chinese and even continental.
For those who love street side food they should have a taste of roadside snack at Billu De Mashoor Pakode as the best dhaba near me. I discovered it on my way to Rohtak on reaching the old bus stop it serves delicious pakodas of many varieties.
National Highway 24
This highway connects Delhi to Lucknow via Ghaziabad, Hapur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur and Sitapur. At the same time if you want to reach Lucknow via NH 2, this will be an absolute delight due to the fact that it is filled with a lot of dhabas.
If you happen to move further along the route to Gajraula then you will discover loads of dhabas there, however, the one that I prefer would be Bhajan Tadka Dhaba that serves delicious food at affordable prices, you should try the garlic lachcha paratha, paneer butter masala and kadhi pakora there.
In the same vicinity I found out another dhaba called Giani Restaurant, one of the oldest serving the best vegetarian food. You should try tandoori paratha or roti with tadka dal.
These are a few of my favorites along the trailblazing path of motor biking experience that I have mentioned here. I enjoyed different cuisines and authentic traditional food.
