The Auto Expo has been known for showcasing the upcoming and future-state innovations and technologies every year. With the rise in the environmental concerns, the future of automobiles is in going green.

Undoubtedly, the focus of the Auto Expo 2020 was largely on electric vehicles. From Mahindra to Maruti to Renault and Tata, all the leading automobiles manufacturers showcased their electric competences at the Auto Expo 2020.

  • Maruti Futuro E Concept

Our very own, indigenous car manufacturer, Maruti, is all set to exploit the wonders of an electric vehicle with their Futuro E concept vehicle. Showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, the Futuro E Concept has the stunning looks of a sports vehicle with its slanted roof. Get ready to zoom across the Indian roads in this future-ready beauty

  • Mahindra Funster Electric Concept

While the world was still dabbling with the diesel and petrol versions, India was leading the automobile market with their electric counterparts. Mahindra, leading the way, showcased its electric Funster at the Auto Expo 2020. This roadster comes with a groovy and a rather unconventional design. What’s more, Mahindra claims that this beast can pick speed from 0 to a 100 in flat 5 seconds!

  • Mahindra e-KUV100

The Mahindra e-KUV100 was another electric vehicle that saw its launch at the Auto Expo 2020. Priced at ₹8.0 lakhs, this car is among the most affordable of the electric vehicles to hit the Indian roads. The car boasts of 147 kilometres when on a full charge. Get your pick booked, though it may be a while before the vehicle gets delivered to you!

  • Renault K-ZE

Not to be left behind, Renault was among the forerunners showcasing its ‘electric car on a budget’ model – Renault K-Ze at the 2020 Auto Expo. With looks akin to that of Kwid, this car is currently available only in the Chinese automobile market and is all set to hit the Indian roads around 2022. Nonetheless, Renault decided to give a sneak peek into this new electric model.

  • Tata Sierra Concept

Sierra has been a hot car since it hit the market in the 90s. With the new Sierra Concept, Indian carmaker, Tata brought the old-world Sierra charm in an SUV body. What’s more, the Sierra Concept has gone all electrical too! Making its appearance at the Auto Expo 2020, this car has kept its vintage looks intact even with the current-age electric features.

  • Mahindra e-XUV300

The Mahindra XUV300 was another model from the house of Mahindra that made its appearance at the Auto Expo in the electric automobiles segment. With an unprecedented score at the Global NCAP, this car has been touted as one of the safest cars on Indian roads. In its all-new electric format with reworked headlamps and grille, XUV300 is all set to give some tough competition to Tata Nexon EV. Due for launch towards the latter part of 2021, this car is going to be a beast to reckon with!

Undoubtedly, the future of automobile industry is electric, and it is no surprise that the market for the electric cars is expanding at a maddening pace. It goes without saying that with these models hitting our roads, the future is definitely green!
